This One’s a Serious Tear Jerker

May 19, 2017

You guys gotta keep your eyes and ears peeled for when the new short film, “ The Meaning of Life” comes out. It was so great to have the opportunity to be apart of such an inspiring movie with a great message.

Producer, writer, and director, Cat Hostick did an amazing job and totally knows what she’s doing when it comes down to getting all the good feelings out of the viewers.

The Meaning of Life is base on a talented starving musician named, Finn Faber (Tyler Shaw) who gets a job as a therapeutic clown at a sick kids hospital. He is assigned to a 9-year-old girl, Sophia Hill (Sadie Munroe) who has Leukemia. Finn soon learns that Sophia coming into his life was no coincidence, but an important lesson he needed to learn as he faces his hospital job interfering with music opportunities.

The film is super emotional and passionate. These two kids do a great job with their roles that’s for sure! It was a fantastic group to work with including a couple of Genie award winners, and I was most impressed with the fact that they managed to commandeer an old empty hospital to shoot this, which I thought was the icing on the cake!

I play Brian Sampson, a music executive. Although I cannot give away much about my role or film since it hasn’t aired yet, I can tell you that the Canadian Premiere airs June 24th, 2017 at the Oakville Film Festival. If you have the opportunity to come on down to Oakville, Ontario that Saturday I highly recommend coming out to view the movie. Canadian support it Ideal and super important when it comes to a film with such great actors and producers.

Here’s a sneak peak of the movie if you haven’t yet seen the trailer. ENJOY!
